Original Air Date: September 18th 2008 This is a sample video for the second Aretha (Aretha II: Ariel no Fushigi na Tabi or アレサII アリエルの不思議な旅) game for the Super Famicom. This video was cut almost in half to get rid of any major spoilers since the game is directly related to the previous. This game added a little more of everything although it got rid of the interesting ’music merging’ aspect. You can read an article on it at: www.gamingsanctuary.com

Original Air Date: September 17th 2008 This is a sample video for the first Aretha/アレサ game for the Super Famicom. A little bit of the video was truncated to get it to fit though you probably won’t notice it until the end (which skips walking back through the forest to go to the birth of Fang and a glimpse of Ariel as an adult). The game had the odd feature to battle enemy ranks and the music will ’merge’ with other tunes and end itself at different points as necessary which attempts to highlight the music of the game. Original Air Date: September 18th 2008 NOTE: This video has strong language at the end. We’re giving a heads-up. This is a sample video for the third and final Aretha game for the Super Famicom. This video was cut almost into a third. The game is pretty decent and plays almost nothing like any of the other games in the series (it’s more an Action-RPG) but the dialogue is great and makes it one of the more hardcore games on the system (from an ’edgy’ standpoint if you can understand it). It has an engine similar to Haou Taikei: Ryu Knight which was also developed by JAM/Japan Art Media. We will give you the brief rundown of the opening segment. After a brief encounter with Howard (from the Game Boy Aretha games) you assume the role of a gang member known as Treno who causes mischief and steals from people along with Mikey Cue and Bass. Their adventure begins when they steal an ancient statue from a cave (which brings misfortune to whoever touches it as depicted on the wall) and run back to town. From there they hilariously pretend to help a guy save his house from burning down and they con a shopkeeper named Fred into giving you more money than he should have for junk. Cue then puts on a ’disguise’ (which is just a green bandana wrapped around his mouth to look intimidating) and messes with an old lady. Then they encounter rival thugs and get into a gang battle until Cue barrages them and knocks one of the enemies into the lake which has him screaming for the b.../b

Original Air Date: October 2nd 2009 We’re uploading the final battle and (long) ending to the final game in the Aretha series that we uploaded a video for over a year ago. This video contains the dialogue leading up to the final boss Howard as Treno and Toto (long believed to just be a hat Treno wore) must face him alone. To kill him you must destroy his beating heart. Killing the walking chestplate makes it easier. Howard has the potential to reverse your controls. Enjoy. Note: This game is also known as Aretha Gaiden as it is more of a sidestory of the main series that brings back Howard the main villain from the Game Boy Aretha games. Recorded on real hardware.

This is the Introduction of SFC ’Aretha-II’ (English) demonstrating early patch work by the Dynamic Designs translation team on this classic turn-based RPG produced by Yanoman the same company that brought us ’Feda: The Emblem of Justice’. The code work is by Bongo` the translation is by Filler and others initial formatting and editing is by Draken and the English story and localization is by Wildbill. This demo runs from loading the game to staying at the first inn in the first town. The story: Ariel a warrior-queen leaves her throne to assist a friend who is about to be overwhelmed by a ruthless invader of the realm. This is not the final form of the Intro. We will be making slight adjustments to the story as necessary and also improve the font. The graphic artifacts in this video are a result of my older laptop being resource challenged and will not be seen in emulators or console hardware. Progress may be monitored at www.dynamic-designs.us Visit the project page or for the latest developments the Aretha-II forum.
