just first level of Tatsujin aka Truxton for the pc engine... very very hard game and makes the megadrive version seem like childs play.. this is running on emulation since I’m undecided whether to buy this because of the difficulty.. The music on the other hand is just heaven and I think trumps both the arcade and megadrive versions. Its pretty rare title too so its expensive.

Well it got worse for the past two days I’ve been struggling with 10-20 MB try doing anything with that. Anyway I’m trying to upload whatever soundtracks I can to free up any space so here’s Tatsujin a fun game for the TG16. PS: I’m not too happy about Windows trying to install updates on its own when it is obvious that I do not have a single byte of space. UPDATE (Oct. 5th 2009): Added composer data. New download link.
Restart points are so frustrating! Imagine facing Mildred Avalon and she kills you with the Angelic beams of death. Now you are sent back to the last checkpoint without your weapons and you have to fight through Bacterion forces again. Once you face Mildred once more she now seems impossible since she has regained all her health and that you are so underpowered. That’s the concept between checkpoints. o avoid this go for a 1LC.
Tatsujin (aka Truxton) for the pc-engine is a classic Toaplan shooter. The arcade was known to be tough as nails and the pc-engine port is no exception. It’s difficulty on just normal mode is downright ludicrous. So tough that for this video I had to play it on easy mode with save-states. I cooked the final boss the Raiden way but trust me he doesn’t go down easy without full powerups and bombs. One of his attacks are hard to dodge especially when he’s close to the bottom screen. I shudder to think what this boss is really like on ’expart’ mode. Most of the stage bosses are pretty weak I have to say they usually have one or two attacks that are predictable. IMO the real threat of this game are the minibosses. They either come in twos or fours throughout the stages and tag your butt all over the place with a barrage of bullets. I just wished the programmers would add a tate mode. That would make things easier to plan my next move if I knew whats coming next. In everything else the controls music sfx and use of colors are way above the Megadrive port. Of course I also enjoyed playing the MD port it’s less frustrating and fun overall. Definitely the PCE port is not meant to be played for fun. This game will bring out the worst in you. It’s geared towards the masochist shmup player with OCD someone like me LOL. IIRC I got this game 4 years ago and I got to 3rd stage on normal mode only once. I try and keep trying but I don’t know if it’s possible to beat this game ever.

I wonder why the bullets are blue. Are there any differences between the prototype and the normal version?

penultimate level do not play this or it will bring out the worst in you whether you are recording or your editing the output. I had to retry several times since my younger brother closed the program!
