This is an often overlooked version of Wizardry V with updated graphics and sound released in 1992 for the PC Engine.

This is a gameplay I made that shows you the descend to level 777 the spot of the secret door and the fight against the 4 most powerful creatures of the entire game Nether Demon The Dark Lord The Arch Fiend and last La-La Moo Moo. Fighting those monsters will allow you to get the most powerful armors and weapons plus to receive a bunch of exp. points to get levels so fast.
Here is the 13th part of this playthrough. I hope you enjoy it and I still try to do my best to keep some uploads coming at times. Feel free to post any comments! ^^ The voice during the last part of the video is from Hatsune Miku.

I’m a lucky bastard in this video. Usually the Forest Lord boss has quite a few minions at his side who can blind the party members and cast other sorts of nasty ailment spells. However the randomized number of followers determined by the game engine before my first serious attempt at this fight was apparently 0. And it turns out this guy isn’t so tough on his own... By the way I got Sound Blaster sound effects now instead of the PC Speaker. Turns out I had to switch from Sound Blaster to PC Speaker in order to get Sound Blaster effects. It doesn’t get more counter-intuitive than that but I’m grateful to 1999nerd for informing me of the solution.

The Windows version of Spiderweb Software’s last Avernum game (which came out for Mac OS in 2009) has finally been released and here’s some gameplay from the demo. This video shows the tutorial section which true to RPG conventions involves the killing of rats. Compared to Avernum 5 I feel this game does an even better job of easing you into the controls and demonstrating how various basic gameplay mechanics work (the numerous tooltips are especially welcome) which means that even Avernum neophytes should be able to get into it easily. As always with Jeff Vogel’s indie RPGs a lot of assets have been reused from previous games in the series but there has also been a comparatively substantial upgrade to the graphics engine and interface. The game now supports resolutions up to 1280*1024 (which is what is used in this video) but can also be played in a window and/or with lower detail settings if you happen to have an older PC. For Spiderweb fans and anyone else hungering for some old school turn-based dungeon crawling the release of Avernum 6 is surely great news. To buy this game (or any other of Spiderweb’s great retro RPGs) visit their official website at: www.spiderwebsoftware.com For those of you who haven’t heard about it Jeff Vogel writes a very readable and funny blog called the Bottom Feeder: jeff-vogel.blogspot.com
