Original Air Date: August 16th 2009 A quirky and cute shooter by Namco with a fair deal of strangeness. You can see a few cameos in this game most notably Pac-Man. In this game you control Dr. Tomari a relatively young scientific genius who is going to rescue Miss Hana (Hana Aibara Tomari’s fiancee) from the evil Dr. Kubota with the help of his assistant Felix Mockle (otherwise known as Sunday Chin). Unbeknownst to the villain Miss Hana has the key to ’Ordyne’ a colossal nuclear reactor around her neck! If word gets out that she holds the ability to potentially lay waste to the entire universe you’d want to save her too! This game is your standard shooter that can be played with a friend and features bright cute visuals and a smidge of imagination. You can stop inside of the ’Space Inns’ scattered throughout levels to buy useful power-ups from Miyuki-chan the owner of the Inn. You can also take a chance by offering a few of your crystals (the game’s currency) at the Dream Company Space Lottery to win a prize. There is also a code to play as Hana (Princess Mode) but I don’t see how she changes the game other than with her graphic. Enjoy. Basic Format: Turbo Chip / HuCard

People pass this game off as a sequel to Ordyne. Barunba has a rotary aim system a la Forgotten Worlds but it kinda hurts the controls if you play on the standard two button PCE controller. It may be entirely in side view but it also scrolls vertically and diagonally so you get that laid-back sense of cruising while you play.
