HQ music link: www.youtube.com Early Action RPG game for the pc engine/turbografx-16 co developed by Hudsonsoft and Atlas. Which plays very much like Gauntlet. Its great in either 1~5 players. Again just wanted to highlight 11 of my favourite tracks. In my opinion this is the quintessential ’pc engine sound’ its this kind of music when I hear it I know it’s a pc engine game. The musician this time is Tsukasa Masuko (aka Macco) best known for his work on the Megami Tensei games right up til Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers.

Dungeon Explorer opening theme symphony orchestra music. One of my all time favorite game systems when I was in my teens was definitely the TurboGrafx 16 ( PCエンジン ). One of the best game cards available for the system was called Dungeon Explorer. Dungeon Explorer is a dungeon crawl similar to Gauntlet but with more aspects added such as levels character customization and music spectacular synthesized music. The opening score from the soundtrack was always one of my favorite pieces of game music. I decided to sit down and hash out the score and arrange it on my studio computer. Once I felt confident I had the score pretty much perfected I went through and orchestrated the piece to replicated what it might sound like if played by a small orchestra. I am really pleased with this remix. After the orchestral version I added a synthesized version using samples that are more like what would be heard on the original TurboGrafx 16 version. I hope all of you TG16 / PC-Engine fanboys and girls enjoy this version! Thanks for listening. This past days I was thinking why there isn’t a Diablo port on the NDS? It could be so cool to play with the touch screen and venture into dungeons with 3 friends with the console’s wireless capabilities. Here comes a new game from Hudson by the name of Dungeon Explorer : Warrior of the Arts which is a sequel to a long living rpg saga started on the PC-Engine on 1989. Visually the game reminds me of Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance on the Gameboy Advance. The game will be available on february 12 in the US and on march 28 in Europe for Nintendo DS (there is also a similar game for PSP).
