Gamble Panic is a nice but mostly garden-variety gambling/parlor game by Sega made in 1995 for the Game Gear. Featuring good audio/visuals for a game of its kind on the GG the game also features a simple story mode with several eccentric characters which you must defeat as well as a neat training mode where you can practice the major events of the main game of which there are quite a few to choose from (complete with in-game instructions). In the game’s story the manager of the hottest gambling getaway ’Gamble Land’ is hosting a competition to see who is the most skilled gambler ever and he’s rounded up eleven of the most crafty players whether they be man woman or even robot to test your mettle in a variety of events. The major events are ’Slot Machine’ ’Roulette’ ’Mini-Bingo’ ’Blackjack’ ’Page One’ ’Poker’ and ’Billiards’ though there are also several sub-games such as ’Change Panel’ (Memory Match or Concentration) and ’UFO Catcher’ (Crane Game). The game takes a little while to complete and the AI can prove a little challenging in some events though you can get passwords after each stage and don’t have to worry about completing it in one sitting. This is a video of the game in action I skip through some of the roulette quickly once I was in a comfortable lead to save time. Enjoy.
