Video originally from NicoNico Douga: www.nicovideo.jp Zok Zok Heroes (Zok Zok coming from zoku zoku so the title roughly means Thrilling Heroes) was an RPG for the Gameboy Color that is very obscure among English-speaking gamers. The game is based on Japanese morphing (aka henshin) superheroes. You play as your choice of either Ippei or Mina an ordinary boy or girl. One night a superhero named Specter crashlands in front of your house majorly injured after a losing battle with the Gyala Gang. Your mad scientist of a grandfather takes him in to be studied and to replicate (or maybe just steal mad scientist after all) Specter’s superpowers. As a result you gain the power to transform into Brightboy or Brightgirl and to further transform into a wide variety of other heroes! Now it’s time for you to take to the streets and give the Gyala Gang some payback! Zok Zok Heroes had some neat features in it. The game features 72 different forms to collect and each with their own special Hissatsu techniques. Your base form also evolves in stats and element based on which forms you use most often making it grow in power as the game goes on (a bit like the Freelancer job from Final Fantasy V). Changing between your civilian and superhero outfits changes how NPCs react to you and also serves as an on/off switch for random battles. However the game’s biggest feature is also why this game is so obscure. Zok Zok Heroes is difficult to run on any system other than an actual b.../b
