Although the Arcade PS1 and Saturn versions of Tetris Plus exist so does the GameBoy version with the Super Game Boy enhancement. Back when I was a kid I remember myself playing Tetris Plus on my old GameBoy Pocket in ’97. This game was released in 1996.

Original Air Date: January 6th 2010 This is the GB adaptation of the original Tetris Plus released in Arcades and for Playstation and Sega Saturn. It’s a very good puzzle game with a few spins on the old classic though it doesn’t deviate much from the original formula which is where some of its criticism comes in. The game features classic Tetris gameplay as well as a ’Puzzle’ mode (which is more like getting to the bottom before you kill the professor). You can also design puzzle levels play against your friend and save your data. The game was released before the Game Boy Color but has nice support with the Super Game Boy. In the game you help a professor and his assistant find riches and excavate ruins. Enjoy.

((Video response)) Platform: PSX Game: Tetris plus Style: Classic version Comments: I have always been a great fan of all Tetris games including the SNES version of TETRIS ATTACK. I made this video in response to David HasselHoff’s Tetris game review so those who love Tetris please rate and comment and discuss your love of the classic game TETRIS! Gameplay: The game consists of two main modes Classic Mode and Puzzle Mode. Classic Mode functions like the original Tetris game for the Game Boy except with different music and visuals. However because the cartridge has battery-powered SRAM it also has the ability to remember your high-scores unlike the original Game Boy game. Puzzle Mode is a twist on the classic gameplay that provides a new scenario. Also included is an editor for making Puzzle levels and Link capability for going head-to-head with another player in either game mode. Puzzle mode: The biggest addition to Tetris Plus is the Puzzle Mode. The player starts by choosing any of four world locations: Maya Knossos Egypt or Angkor Wat. Each of the four locations has a different level set. Once the game starts the player is presented with a cluster of pre-placed bricks and the professor enters the play-area through a disappearing gate. The objective is to get the professor to the bottom of the screen by placing blocks and clearing lines before the spiked ceiling at the top comes down and crushes him. The Professor: Your goal is to guide this archaeologist b.../b

Note: Since there was no sound due to an issue with CamStudio I decided I would make a very fast clip of my gameplay. This video shows me playing Tetris Plus in Classic Mode and reaching 532490 points. Not a bad score for someone like me. ) I started fresh from Level 0 otherwise the game would have been shorter and therefore I would have scored less. I could handle the speed for most of the levels but Level 36 got me. I absolutely lost all the control and ’topped out.’ If you’ve done better post a video response here.
