Quite possibly the easiest Gradius game ever. But no matter. *EDIT* - It probably didn’t help - the game was not set to hard mode. It’s a great game! This game features nifty things such as cutscenes (all of which are displayed here) weapons select (which IIRC none of the other 8bit games had.) and even every boss has different music. This is also one of the few Gradius games without Moai a defenseless final boss or ’Space’ sections before levels. It’s pretty cool though I might have a look out for a copy.. :)

At first glance you might confuse this for a port of the arcade game... but.. it’s not! Aside from the first level (which is rather bizarrely almost an exact port of the arcade’s opening level.) this is a all new game... And no reusing music doesn’t bother me. It’s nice to see some of the songs get re-used once in a while. It’s also nice to see the Gradius 2 MSX boss theme (Striker onwards) find another home it’s one theme I wish the Gradius series would re-use more often. (And it’s actually a good remix! The gameboy WAS capable of pulling off good music once in a while XP ) Unfortunately this game’s version of Aircraft Carrier has been slightly butchered. Also this game’s final is a bit wussier than usual... which coming from this series is saying something! Oddly like the second gameboy game this game’s fairly easy once you’re powered up and continue to get forcefields because unlike traditional Gradius games the forcefields act as health as opposed to just covering the area they display at. How-ever GETTING fully powered up is the hard part. The first level killed me more often than the rest of the game put together. XD Couple of notes: 1) The volcano mini-boss : That’s actually a completely safe spot turns out I didn’t need to shoot at all here. XD 2) Crawler: This is actually the hardest boss in the game at least to kill. I can’t see what took away my shield at the end though I didn’t visibly collide with anything. :/ 3) Striker: Providing you don’t b.../b

The sequal to Gradius I shouldn’t need much explanation :) If you have any questions leave a comment or PM me. Enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------- THE GRADIUS SERIES AND MUSIC BELONGS TO KONAMI AND SWEAR BY THIS.
