The title of this song is the same as the Japanese title of the HM series: 牧場物語 (’Bokujou Monogatari’ meaning ’Ranch Story’). It’s the opening track on the GB game’s official soundtrack (’Bokujou Monogatari GB Original Sound Collection’) that never made it outside Japan and is virtually impossible to find for sale. D= Fortunately you can listen to it through HMOtaku.com’s amazing jukebox: www.hmotaku.net Click the button to open it and then scroll almost to the end of its list the ’Harvest Moon GB1’ album. (While you’re there you can even listen to plenty more great songs from various HM games! HMOtaku = awesome site go check it out. =D) See I have a hobby of writing stylized translations of anime songs: ie versions that are aimed to capture the overall feel and meaning of the song but don’t necessarily say exactly what is literally said in Japanese rather altered to and flow / rhyme / fit the tune. Usually I find an existing literal translation of the song I’m covering and base my lyrics off that. However THIS song is apparently so obscure that I couldn’t find ANY lyrics in English OR Japanese ANYWHERE. So... I took the opportunity to try to study Japanese and pay tribute to a series that means so much to me (though I’ve never actually played GB/GBC heh) at the same time... I listened to the song zillions of times over until I was able to transcribe the Japanese lyrics. Then line-by-line with the help of countless online dictionary/translation services b.../b
Original idea credit to Nakayliahenry now ShadeofDespair2468. It’s a translation of the Neon Genesis Evangelion OP ’Cruel Angel’s Thesis’ only with a Harvest Moon twist complete with zillions of spiffy references. x3 I thought it was a great parody on her part so in honor of her and her birthday (6/21) I remade my own video for it using a karaoke version of the NGE theme song and some NGE intro clips combined with my own drawings of several of the Harvest Moon series main protagonists. Please enjoy despite my rather wimpy voice for such a BOOM-BOOM-BOOM awesome kind of song. Hopefully it has its good parts: I’m kinda proud of the drawings of spiffily-posed Sara and Pete from the GameBoy games and Life Grain’s hair (haha I don’t usually put any detail into the hair so I’m strangely satisfied with myself for that) and I do like how the last few lines sounded for some reason... ^^ If nothing else I’d like the crazy work I put into those mesh-ful video effects and illustrations to be appreciated (I can’t do anything much better with Paint Windows Maker Maker... xD) that mess of fades and slow-downs (have you SEEN that original anime intro with less-than-half-second flashes of those cool pictures!?)... I disclaim any rights to the game anime clips song and the LAST FEW official game images depicted. If you’re wondering why I got rid of their faces it’s mostly so as not to break the pattern of my own pictures (on which I often hate drawing faces for b.../b

**After you watch this intro please see the second video response here for the related ending theme. xD --- ♪MP3 download♪ www.mediafire.com --- This is a parody of the opening animation of the (best) anime series (ever) - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱) or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. ^^ The theme song tune used is ’Bouken Desho Desho?’ (冒険でしょでしょ?) which translates to ’It’s an Adventure Right Right?’ and the original artist is Aya Hirano. The Japanese title of the Harvest Moon series is Bokujou Monogatari (牧場物語) which is usually translated as ’Ranch Story’ or ’Farm Story.’ The common abbreviation is ’BokuMono’ - just in case you didn’t understand the title. ^^ This whole project started one day while humming the theme and the random thought crossed my mind that ’Bokumono’ starts with the same sound and has the same amount of syllables as ’bouken’... xD That and Harvest Moon and Haruhi Suzumiya are my two absolute favorite things to obsess over so I wanted a way to combine them somehow. x3 As for the rest of the lyrics I didn’t go too overboard with the references this time but there are still several. If something is oddly capitalized it’s probably a reference: The tools I need will always be with me right in my ’sack... Why is it that I chose a life like this over all other potentials? Somehow I could tell something in this simple place was fate’s Exciting Plan for me I believe The power to create life is rewarding This b.../b
