Original Air Date: August 4th 2009 Ah yes... Mystic Ark... this is one of those RPGs people have been begging for a fan translation for almost as long as I can remember. It’s what some would call the sequel to ’The 7th Saga’ and was only released in Japan. Despite what many believe however this would not mark the end of the series. There is one last game made in 1999 for Playstation titled ’Mystic Ark: Maboroshi Gekijo’ which is a sequel to Mystic Ark but it’s very different from either the original Mystic Ark or 7th Saga/Elnard. I was going to pair this and the gameplay together but given the nature and progression of this game I wouldn’t be able to show much if I did. Mystic Ark is like The 7th Saga but with a fresh coat of paint and several new innovations. This game is more of an adventure game now with lots of searching to be done and puzzles to be solved. The Playstation game is almost purely an adventure game so it’s not like I couldn’t see it coming but it just made an already strange series even more strange. How strange is this game? Having almost beaten the game I can tell you that it is... very strange. This game is a lot more puzzle orientated than before so if you don’t understand some Japanese or have a decent FAQ you may never beat this game as some of the puzzles require more than mere common sense. The reason for this is besides adding several new options when investigating important objects some objects require you to use an item while b.../b

In this introduction seven heroes are captured from seven worlds and turned into stone figures (though it’s theoretically eight since the main hero can be male or female but they only show the male in the intro) but the main character Reemer or Ferris is beckoned to fight on and breaks free from their curse and must travel to the seven worlds to b.../b
Our English patch for the Superfamicom (SFC/SNES) version of Mystic Ark is 100% completed. More information is available at Dynamic Designs www.dynamic-designs.us This classic turn-based role playing game’s storyline did not turn out to be a true sequel to Enix’s 7th Saga although the look and feel of the game are similar. If I had to choose one word to describe Mystic Ark I would call it ’allegorical’. Our English patch required a decade of efforts by many people. We released it in 2009. Bongo` Draken and Wildbill shared project coordination through the years with Bongo` providing assembly recoding and insertion tools. The primary translator was Akujin with significant block segments translated by Shirley Varkon and Mecha Gaijin. Wildbill and Draken teamed up to write the English story and Taskforce designed the font. Finally Red Soul assisted Wildbill in polishing the finished product to perfection! Dynamic Designs dedicated the completed English Mystic Ark patch to ChrisRPG a former member of the translation community who died in 2007. This video sample extends through the entire introduction from power-up to just before the first battle in Scenario 1 called Sand World by some and Cat World by others. Caveats: Our English patch contains all original material for which we hold the intellectual property rights. Nothing from the Japanese Enix game itself has been incorporated inside our patch. Moreover we are sharing our English patch with gamers free of b.../b
